Acapulco

Famous for its explosive nightlife, unlimited water sports, first-class hotels, gourmet restaurants, postcard beaches, and the breathtaking splendor of its bay, Acapulco is one of the most thrilling and best cities in the world.

Acapulco offers massive nightclubs that are modern temples of sensuality jam-packed with beautiful people partying until sunrise.  Its warm water bay and unspoiled beaches have been long before irresistible to humans and have kept its charm and enchanting beauty till this day.

Acapulco fishing, particularly sailfish, is famous.  In fact, when someone doesn’t catch a fish, it’s news.  Diving and scuba is rated first class here and nothing is more exhilarating than jumping into one of the jet-skis and riding across Acapulco Bay in full throttle.

Acapulco leaves up to its reputation of ‘the city that never sleeps’.  Nightclubs and discos don’t close until the last single customer leaves and at times this can be long after the sun has come up.  Not only is Acapulco’s nightlife legendary, but it’s been known to be a magnet to legendary people, particularly ‘the rich and famous’ celebrities from all over the world, who have kept vacation retreats and homes in this stunning city. Don’t wonder if the person that sits next to you may be one of them as you’ll never know who you’ll see in this lively city.

Although Acapulco is a diverse city with the many benefits that large cities offer, still many areas in this place hold on to the feeling of a small town.  For many people, the first thing that comes to mind when they think of Acapulco is the incredible boldness and the daring feats done by the famous La Quebrada cliff divers.  These divers are definitely a ‘must see’ when visiting the place. These awesome exhibitions are presented everyday at 1:00, 7:00, 8:00, 9:00, and 10:00 pm.  The last show at night is the most watched because of the added torches that divers hold enhancing and adding a touch of drama to an already dramatic show.

Avenida Costera Miguel Aleman, which is the main street, is the true heartbeat of Acapulco.  Locally know as just “The Costera”, going to almost anywhere in this city whether beaches, shopping, dining, or drinking, will come in contact with the Costera. Most of the city’s main attractions are also wither on or close to this busy street.  This main street starts at the airport as Carretera Escenica or scenic highway, and then changes its name as it coils out of the hills to the south of the bay entering the city proper. The Costera’s activities are various and constant, making a lot of sections of the strip a ideal spot to have lunch or dinner or simply do some serious people watching.

Acapulco is a place not to be missed on your next vacation trip, imagine the place, plan that trip, and take that next adventure to this lively city.
